The QR code has had quite a year. Its countless uses make it a clever invention that facilitates building leads and boosting traffic. While some entrepeneurs and business owners manage to harness the power of the QR, many just forget, and that’s ok. Hopefully I’ll be able to explain why it can be so valuable.

There is a simple way in which you can use QR codes to build social proof, and therefore essentially increase the amount of incoming leads and traffic for your business. With the internet full of worthy competitors these days, and companies building digital presences now more than ever, you need to make sure you stand out. Social proof highlights your trustworthyness and professionalism, indicating to potential customers that you may be a viable option.

It is likely that if you are running a business, you already have quite some clients. More often than not, however, they do not know about your social media pages, website, or newsletter. The essential concept in most modern markets is that you want to keep interacting with them: informing them about new products, services, events, and general updates. Many business owners do this in the form of email lists.

Email lists allow you to regularly reach out to existing customers and maintain your connection with them.

A large email list is often extremely helpful when you launch a new product or open a new location. We often struggle to build an online presence and spend a lot of time and effort on increasing our reach. An important consideration is that we don’t always have to do all the heavy lifting. The interesting and extremely valuable thing about social media is that the platform and its users can distribitute your content for you. However, this approach only works if you make sure your digital profiles are already optimized. If you need help with this, feel free to drop a comment. I’m happy to take a look and give you some advice.

So, how does this link with the QR code? It allows you to quickly send clients at your real life location to your digital location. Simply having it printed on a small sign at the reception of a hotel, the tables of a restaurant, the checkout at a store, can do wonders for your company. Even requesting tourists to scan the code and follow you at the end of a city tour. The uses are endless.

If you manage to come up with a small reward; an incentive to convince people to follow you, you are set up for success. It is a waste to work hard on a good product or experience and then not take advantage of customers’ satisfaction. Social media is all about networks and eventually word of mouth. Therefore, if you optimize your product/service and the reaction is generally positive, request customers to scan the QR code. Apps such as Linktree will help guide them to the many locations of your digital presence.

This way, you’ll be able to keep in contact with them. Your page will have more followers, engagement, and therefore social proof, further propelling your digital presence. It is a simple shortcut to building your following. Rather than it being an action that you undertake from time to time, you should strive to build a habit out of using the QR codes. The most significant advantage is its convenience. Making a code can be done on many websites, and most phones have a built-in scanner.

So…let’s get scanning.
